I was an early adopter of rental having been waiting for it to launch in the UK since a friend of mine launched a jewellery rental service called the folly boutique back in 2013. It was before it’s time…Rent the Runway had only just launched in the US (2009) and the sustainability movement still felt pretty ‘niche’ to put it lightly so I’m not sure customers were quite ready for this fantastic revolutionary concept.
The Unique Opportunity Facing Charity Retail
Towards the beginning of the year I attended a shop opening in Kings Cross for the new shelter boutique in the Coal Drops yard – the B corps London fashion retail estate with a focus on sustainability and community houses sustainable fashion brands and has a green energy system and mainly local employees.
Why I’m blogging again after a hiatus
I used to have a blog years ago but somewhere in-between starting and growing a business, a career that evolves at the rate Madonna’s look did during the 80’s & 90’s, 7 moves, a wedding and living abroad for a couple of stints – it got neglected and eventually shrivelled into non existence.
